Resolved Question: design ideas for large/tall open fireplace???
Hi, after getting some great help off here opening out the fire place,,, now we have done it we have unearthed a lovely open fire place, tall and arched,,,,,, now we have it it's what to do with it... anyone know any sites with design ideas or any ideas of their own,, im really stuck on this one and what to do with it, wether to paint the brick and put a wood burner in there or to use it as a useble space......... all ideas welcome!! Resolved Question: Where can I get the designs/ measrements for self builing Wood burning fireplace?
My weekend retreat is 120 years old farm house build on an area of two acres. Now, I am building a two beds anexie trying not to spoiling the old look (self designed) but with modren facilities (structure is complete). I have a good maison but he does'nt have expertise in building fireplaces. I will appeciate if any help can be given in providing the measurements/ designs for DIY. Thanks. Thanx I now think that I should buy one and ask the archetect to take care of it as it is one of those projects which I wanted to do the designing bit all by my self. I just purchased a home. I have gathered that I need to consult with a mason or a contractor about building a fireplace. 2 questions: 1) How can I be sure that he and his company are reputable and 2) Since I live in Cleveland and the temperature is already in the 50's at night, do you think it's too late to build indoor brick woodburner this year? How long will it take them? PS -This is off the subject but I need an answer, my cat is sick. He is not holding down his food -either end, to well. Any ideas what's wrong with wrong with kitty?
